Jobs for Life Training provides the ability to connect to and care for root issues of the heart and provide practical building blocks to a healthy character. Through a strategy that combines work readiness training, Biblical principles, and volunteer mentoring, Jobs for Life teaches key workplace essentials to find and keep a job with training topics that include:
Attitude for Success
Respect for authority
Conflict resolution
Teamwork
Perseverance
Effective communication
Integrity, excellence
Vocational planning
Job search techniques
Building a resume
Interviewing skills
Customer satisfaction.
Each student will have a champion, someone who will mentor them through the process and help them navigate the difficult challenges that come with change.
Jobs for Life is an interactive, biblical-based curriculum designed as a 15-session course. It will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6 pm to 8:30 pm at Tacoma Nazarene Church.
Students are encouraged to take ownership of what they learn through:
Class instruction and discussion (JFL Instructors)
Small groups ( JFL small group discussion Leaders)
One- on One (JFL Champions- Mentors)
Individual study
Business and Community Involvement
